AIMS testing is going well. Thanks again to Mrs Barrett for providing breakfast every morning! There is not homework due to AIMS We will be watching a movie on Friday. AIMS- 5th grade has state testing Monday-Thursday. Mrs. Barrett and I will be providing breakfast for our class, so please make sure students are here by 8am. Pizza Party is scheduled for next Friday. (we ended up with 27 reams of paper) Please encourage your kids to get some great sleep and do their best on the test. Last call for Field trip money due tomorrow. Jamba Juice 3.00 tomorrow Wear purple. (relay for life tomorrow) Dress Code- will be strictly enforced! Have a great weekend.

Monday April 4

Today. There was a real fire drill and we had to evacuate. All is well. No worries! There will not be a story, spelling test or vocabulary this week. A homework packet for AIMS prep is coming home. No excuses for not having homework! Please continue to encourage your students to be on their best behavior. We are having an increase with lunch detention and not doing homework. This week is the relay for life. (support cancer) Please send in change! We won the paper drive. Thank you for your support. (pizza party coming our way). AIMS starts Monday. Welcome Back!
I hope every one enjoyed a much needed break...
Thank you for coming to conferences. It was nice to see you all again.
This week:
We have a writing assignment. Students need to bring in their favorite item. We will take a picture of it and students will be writing on why that object is special. The objects are due tomorrow. Instructions going home today.
This week in math we are working on patterns. This weeks story is Evelyn Cisneros, Prima Ballerina. Study guides will go home on Thursday.
Dont forget to send in field trip money. $11.00 due no later than April 8th 3pm.
FYI-McDonalds is giving away free breakfast for AIMS testing.

hello 5th grade families!
the puberty class was intersting. please ask your kids about the information they recieved!
fundraiser information is coming home today.
we are planning our 5th grade fieldtrip to sealife in tempe. the cost will be $10 per student.
Also ask your kids about this week reading! Loius Armstrong. I made some amazing jambalaya for the entire class to enjoy. Thanks Jada's family for providing drinks.
Valentines Party Monday Feb 14th. Students will also have an opportunity to buy Pizza on Wednesday Feb 16th. Money goes right back to the school.

Kids are running low pencils. white board markers and such.

So far the projects look amazing! We are the only class that had 100% turn in all their posters.

Puberty Education was re-scheduled for Feb 8th, so stay tuned.

Next week is spirit week for the super bowl. Students brought home information.

Please check the PASS system. All grades are up to date. Also ask your kids about AR and where they are with their goals.

We are having trouble with lunch, talking (shouting) and food throwing. If this continues kids will have consequences. A few kids confessed so ask your kid if they were one of them. I gave everyone a warning, next time I will call home.

We had the most winners for the Character counts contest! We also had the 1st place winner for the tshirt contest! (Chloe Temple)

hello parents!
Kids have got there new AR goals, a parent information sheet went home yesterday please make sure to sign it along with the puberty permission form and black history form. Whew! lots of paper. Today coming home is your child's recent test scores. I am requesting that some students attend free after school tutoring. I am willing to stay after school so please take advantage. =)

Happy Friday!
Third quarter is off and running. The next upcoming event is the Black History project, the handout is going home today. This is an outside school project .

We are moving on to geometry. Stay tuned for after school tutoring alerts. I plan to have my schedule worked out this weekend.

Students were given their new AR goals. Please make sure kids are still reading 20 minutes every night. 95% of our class raised their AR reading level.

I try to post everyday, but please bare with me when I cant.
