Hey Parents.
We have a busy week. Students will be having a Christmas Party on Friday morning. Girls bring donuts and boys juice. We will be watching Home Alone. Please make sure to get back the parent permission slips.

Tomorrow-Tuesday students need to wear all white or as much as possible.

If you missed the concert there will be an encore on Friday morning.
BMX show also Friday morning

Class auction Thursday. Students are allowed to bring in 2 items to auction.

This week will be lots of review and crafts.

The concert was amazing, it was so nice to see all the parents. The kids have come so far.
There is not spelling homework this week. We are working on Poems, Pandora's Box, the Civil War and graphs. We have a new student Jada. As always I am trying to take your kids from good to great and I appreciate all your support.

Tonight please give your kids their pre-spelling test and sign. I would suggest if they miss a word they write it 5 times each. (math also)

I am still not happy about the AR points. Students should be reading 20 minutes a night. It is such a small time frame and it makes such a huge difference in their academics.

Wednesdy Dec 1

Sorry I forgot to post yesterday, I totally got busy and forgot!

Today the kids are taking the reading Gallieo test and tomorrow math, so please make sure they eat a nice breakfast!

No math homework tonight. But students still have spelling homework and 20 minutes of reading.

We are still working on the human body for science and we started algebra for math.
2 and 1/2 weeks left until break.

First I would like to say thank you to all the parents who helped with the Thanksgiving Breakfast. It was a huge success. The kids stuffed themselves all day. I am so thankful for all the kids in room 316.

We have 3 weeks left remaining in the semester. Where is the time going?

Sat Nov something

Good Morning!
Progress reports went home yesterday (Friday).

When we come back on Monday we will be hitting math facts really hard! If students do not passs math facts they will have to write them in words for homework.

Thank you to Mrs. Carillo who treated our class to Dunkin Donuts! We had a really good week as far as behavior. Room 316 rocks!

Next week there will not be a story. We will take next week to review.

Tutoring- I am willling to tutor in the mornings I do not have duty. I am also going to be doing some tutoring at lunch. If students are not reaching their goals or need extra help I am here to help!

We were able to order extra Panda so kids will be able to pay 5.00 tomorrow on a first come basis.

Homework-vocabulary, bring in something that represents one of the vocabulary words.
Spelling worksheet, math.

Tomorrow kids can wear costumes from their favorite book character. Students are also allowed bring in treats to share.

Sorry I was out for the past 2 days. My son was in the hopital for the past 3 days!
I am behind on grading so please bare with me. I will have EVERYTHING in PASS by Friday.

Homework- Mixed Fractions, vocabulary and ABC order. I know the sub sent home a packet but it did not have any math. I told the kids they could turn in the packet on Friday but it would not be necessary. I will use it at extra credit.

Happy Friday!
The test will come home on Monday's as I need the weekend to grade. I tried today and it takes away from instruction time so I hope you understand.

Next Wednesday we are going to have a "pink out" for breast cancer. I would like to see 100% of our class in pink.

Game-I hope to see a lot of you ar tonights games. dont forget the blue flyer.

Project-Due Monday! I have students 2 days to research in the computer lab. Please help your kids to be creative. I offered students a re-print of the assignment in case they lost it, so everyone should know and have the assignment.

Keep the tootsie rolls coming in for the fall carnival. Colored hair spray too. These items can be purchased at the dollar tree.

Book Fair continuing all next week. Come in take a look.

Today we went to the computer lab to get started on the rocket reports. We will have one more lab day and then students will be expected to finish over the weekend, remember this is due on Monday. Students were allowed the opportunity to come in early if they do not have computers.

Last call for Panda Money. We only have 5 pupils who paid. If we dont get enough orders we will have to cancal.

Football Game- Try and make it to the Combs High School Game. Wear red and black. Bring the blue flyer so our school can get credit. See you there.

2nd Quarter

Well, the blog is back up and running!

First of all thank you for coming out to conferences. It was great to see you all again. I am excited about this quarter. I will be pushing your kids much harder so get ready!

This week the kids were assigned a science project. They will need to do a report on a space mission and make a spaceship, probe or space station to match the report. The Rubric and instructions are coming home today. The Due date is Monday Ocotber 25th.

Tomorrow we will be introducing fractions. Fractions will be covered for the majority of the 2nd quarter.

Homework-Spelling and vocabulary worksheet
math-prime and composite numbers.

Dont forget Panda Express money is due by Friday 5.00 and kids are allowed to bring in extra treats if they want.

Sunny D news letter- We are trying to collect 20 labels to get 20 free books for our class. It is on sale at Fryes for .50 cents!

One of the kids in our class has a sister with leukemia. The family is selling shirts for 10.00 to raise money. It is our class goal to come together as a class and each purchase a shirt if possible. This would be a great opportunity for extra chores!

Please have all paper work in by Friday the 13th. So far 95% of the class has everything in.

I am so excited to have your kids this year! We are off to a great start.
Thank you so much for all the supplies from my wish list. I really appreciate them.
Today we took a math facts test. All 5th graders need to be able to do 100 problems in two minutes. I sent home their results. Also coming home is a whole bunch of paperwork (sorry)
This all needs to be in by Friday. I told the kids if we get 100% by Friday we can have a Root beer Float party. We will be starting math tomorrow. Basic review. Email or call if you have any questions or concerns!

AIMS

The kids did an excellent job in coming to school. We had 100% 2 of the 3 days, and 99% the other day. We have 5 more weeks so please continue to get them here and on time.

Middle School

dont forget! Middle school informational this Thursday and the kids go over next Tuesday, the 27th@ 9am. I am so excited for them.

Flat Stanley

We got our first Flat Stanley back from Nevada! We hope to have all of them back before school is out.

The state projects are off and running. The kids are doing a fantastic job on their boards. Due to lack of supplies I sent home the shirts. Kids can take their time and have more resources. The shirts should be completed by May 1st. Remember, neatness counts as well as creativity!

It's time for spring conferences! Students are coming home today with pre-arranged appointment times. I cant wait to see you, please call or email me if you need to re-schedule.

State Reports- initial information for state reports have gone home. Today all students were told what state they have to report on. Have fun with this.

Group pictures- Are this Thursday. The cost is $8.00

Pizza-The kids would like to order Pizza this Friday. I can cover the cost of drinks. Each student will need to bring $3.00 by Thursday. If you can afford to cover an extra kid it would be awesome.

Valentines Day

Kids are allowed to bring treats and cards as long as it is enough for 31 kids. We will exchange during our lunch time. You are always welcome to stop by!

We love school.
This month we are busy being globally aware. We are helping Haiti, celebrating Black History and learning about Korean New Year.

Fitkids-We are getting getting fit, however kids are bringing in too much junk. Our healthy walk consists of Hot Cheetos and candy. I would like to see more fruits and granola bars. Save the chips for lunch.

Information/Deadlines

Students should be working on their autobiographies and posters for Black History Month.
The due date is Friday January 29th! I will not accept late papers.

Puberty session: This will be presented by Pinal County. If I do not get permission slips back your child not be able to attend. I have a contact number for Pinal County if you should have any questions or concerns.

Middle School Schedules: Deadline is today, January 22nd!

Homework: Homework has increased this semester. Please make sure to monitor your child's homework. Homework is always Monday-Thursday.

As of February 1st- Students will no longer be allowed to call home for instruments or left assignments. I am trying to prepare students to be more responsible and for Middle school.
Phone calls will be made for emergencies only.
